Photos from May - Pets and Flowers

I think the picture above tells really perfectly how great the early Summer feels to me. :)

I have enjoyed the first warm days very much! I plan to go for long walks and photograph...

Yllä parin viikon takainen otos kirsikankukista. Alkukesän ihanuus välittynee siitä aika hyvin. :) Puut kukkineen löytyivät kilometrin päästä, ja tarkoitus olisi kuvata ulkona vielä paljon...

Below is the only card I have made during this Spring. It was for Mother's Day, of course.
Kortteja en ole täällä paljon esitellyt tänä vuonna, ja oikeastaan alla oleva on ainoa, jonka olen tehnyt.

It was natural to choose birds for the card as they are my mom's favourite animals. Right now she has two budgies. The new-comer, a green female, has charmed the older male. I never seen more sappy pair of birds, their honeymoon has lasted already two months!

Äitienpäiväkortin lintukiiltokuvat löysin Honkkarista, kaikista maailman kaupoista. Ne sopivatkin hyvin äidilleni, joka pitää linnuista kovasti. Hänellä on pitkään ollut undulaatteja, ja alla tämänhetkinen pariskunta. Nuori vihreä tulokas on saanut vanhemman herran täysin pauloihinsa, ja pari on kuherrellut siirappisen rakastuneena jo useamman kuukauden.

My mom has also two guinea pigs. Both girls, named after Finnish pop singers. The golden coloured is bolder and bossier, althought the chocolate-golden one holds her ground when needed! They got their share of salad after Mother's Day dinner.

Pakko esitellä myös äidin mainio marsukaksikko, tumma Paula ja vaalea Vicky. (Nimetty Koivuniemen ja Rostin mukaan.) Vicky on aikamoinen päällepäsmäri, ja rohkea kuin mikä. Paula on ujompi, mutta osaa kyllä ilmoittaa siskolleen, milloin ei sovi hyppiä silmille.

Camera was useful also while travelling to my mother. The near-by forest floor was filled with delicate wood sorrel flowers. It is more common to see wood anemones in May, so this was a pleasant surprise.

Kamerasta oli äitienpäivänä hyötyä myös matkalla. Huomasin metsänpohjan täynnä kukkivaa ketunleipää. Odotin näkeväni tietenkin valkovuokkoja, joten herkemmät kukkaset veivät saman tien huomioni.

I'll write more soon, as I finally got photos of my cranberry&oatmeal-cookies before they vanished. ;)

Vivid Details from Forest

I keep finding the most amazing details when walking through forest. The branches seem to form patterns that are intriguing, when against the light sky. Tree bark has beautiful, vivid shades that I love. The variation of trees makes them my favourites. :)

Walking in nature is one of my top hobbies right now. :) I'm looking forward to Spring, when there will be more light here in northern hemisphere. That means I can get better photos with my compact camera. ;)

Metsäkävelyistä on tullut suosikkiharrastukseni viime viikoina. :) Nautin, kun löydän visuaalisesti upeita yksityiskohtia kaikkialta ympäriltäni.
Metsässä erityisesti puut ovat monella tapaa suosikkejani. Oksiston muodostamat kuviot ovat yleensä valoa vasten aivan mahdottoman hienoja, mutta myös kaarnassa löytyy kiehtovia rakenteita ja sävyjä.
Odottelen kevättä, jotta valon määrä kasvaisi. Digipokkarillani saa nyt hyviä kuvia vain keskipäivällä, jos pilviverho ei ole sakea. Oikeaan suuntaan ollaan onneksi menossa. ;)

City Dweller in Forest

What I most enjoy in my new neighbourhood is nature. It really is something else compared to the parks I took walks in the last place I lived. Now, no parks but forest! ♥

I feel grateful and humbled being able to smell, see and hear all the life around the woods. And it's all just 10 minutes away from my home. :) I wish I could present here the smell of pine trees, the scent of ground in warm days and all those tiny details...

Uudessa asuinpaikassani on parasta lähimetsä. :) Olen kertonut siitä lähes kaikille, jotka tapaan. Entisten puistokävelyiden sijaan pääsen nyt ihan oikeaan metsään kymmenessä minuutissa!

Metsässä kävellessä kaikki aistit kertovat jotain mielenkiintoista. Ja koska hajuaistini parani marraskuussa tehdyn poskionteloiden operaation jälkeen, metsän tuoksu on parasta, mitä voin kokea. :) Voi kun sen tuoksunkin saisi tänne blogiin kuvien oheen...

Inspiring Outdoor Views from England

I totally enjoyed the surroundings of Oxford while being there a week. <3 All the amazing details of buildings and plants were worth photographing.

/ Viikko Oxfordissa oli antoisa. Ympäristöstä löytyi runsaasti kauniita, valokuvaamisen arvoisia yksityiskohtia. Olimme koko ajan liikkeellä, ja jalat kipeytyivät pidemmän päälle. Uteliaisuus kuitenkin ajoi eteenpäin, ennennäkemättömiä näkymiä kohden.

There were a lot of different birds and animals in the meadow areas. Magdalen College even a had a park for deers!

/ Eläimistö oli runsasta niittyjen ja laidunten varsilla. Erään koulun alueella oli jopa aidattu puisto peuroille!

As you can see we also happened to have a great weather. :) Pretty warm, only little rain and fair amount of sunshine.
/ Sää oli odottamaani parempi. :) Sadekuurot olivat lyhyitä ja aurinko paistoi usein, ja lämpimästi. Matkamme osui kuulemma kevään sateettomimpaan viikkoon.

Quick Update

My trip to Great Britain was very enjoyable! I photographed so much that it'll take time to go through all of it. I quickly put to together small glimpse. More is coming! :)
/ Maailmalta on nyt palattu antoisalta reisulta! Valtava määrä kuvia odottaa läpikäymistä, ja sillä välin laitan nopeasti muutaman vilauksen Britanniasta...

Nature Awakens

I'm really enjoying the warm sun shine these days!

The Spring came early this year and I truly don't mind that! ;-)

Mallards are just a glimpse of all the bird life I hear while taking walks.

Linnunlaulu siivittää nyt kävelylenkkejä, lukuun ottamatta näitä hiljaisia sorsia.

Cherry blossoms are plentiful and make our small town alive.

Kirsikankukat pienessä keskustassamme tuntuvat luksukselta.

I'm glad of all the beauty I see now.

Näistä hetkistä jokainen tuo luonnon kauneuden lähelleni.

A Glimpse of This Summer

During this summer I had "crafter's block" if you could say so. I kept all the fabrics ready but struggled to get anything fit together.
 Anyway, I at least got done some congratulatory cards and maybe they helped me to get on with the hobby. :) I guess also the holiday time offered some new places to relax and see things differently.

Enjoying the season

My favourite season...

is colourful. The autumn leaves (called here as ruska) are breathtaking in Finland!

A warm cup of tea is the favourite refreshment of my boyfriend and myself when temperature declines...
