The Favourite Season

The autumnal crafting is a beautiful way to celebrate this season. Although my thyroid issues are better in summer, I still love autumn more.

Last autumn I had overbooked my schedule because I was so happy to be back home from the studies in a quiet rural area. This year I will try to take things easy, so I can keep up. Blogging happened too be one thing that I couldn't keep up with, but let's try again. I wish I had shared these autumn projects sooner, but it's never too late 😃

This hobby is one that I seem to do in cycles. Always feeling like there's something still undone. Paper crafting feels like a good way to take a break from work, where I use computer all the time.😅 Plus a creative hobby where you do something with your hands is suppose to be good for your brains!

Spooky Things Move in the Mist

 Halloween is one of my favourite seasonal celebrations with all the things to do and watch.

I may have started early this year, by watching the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, seasons 3 and 4, from Netflix.

There were few spooky and fun craft exchanges last year with Halloween theme. One of them was a three-piece exchange. I most enjoyed doing a tiny zine!

The "zine" of mine was maybe more like a miny magazine than a decorated booklet because I loved making a story! It was an exciting way to use stamps creatively.

The hole package was in a decorated mini grip package:

The zine had three spreads. My story in a nutshell: The birds spread a message of a party in an old mansion, gathering guests along their way.

The last page, the back cover has the mansion. I wanted to keep the green glow in the building by stamping very ligthly.

There were some happy mail stuff hidden between the pages. I guess the photo of them is lost by now.

However, there were two more craft project in the package. I will make a separate post about them.

ATC Card of a Different Shape

 Few weeks ago I took part to an ATC exchange that had an unusual theme: Different shape than usual.

The assignment was to alter the shape by keeping within the normal size (6,4cm x 8,9 cm).

I tried different things, like punching out shapes out of cardstock, but they were annoyingly hard to finish. Finally I decided to cut out part of a ferris wheel shaped object. I had been playing with a circus-theme that day, and when I realised how to fit in the ferris wheel it all came together nicely.

When I got into calendar crafts I didn't realise I would start again hole paper craft hobby!

But after nine monts I'm so into it that I want to update this blog again, too. Let's see if I actually have time or is it just a flight of fancy...

I traded three ATC-cards via Facebook group this month. One of them was from this series of four cards. This warm-up for Artist Trading Cards I started by making background with aquarelles and Brusho pigments. The strong violet color is from Brusho pigment. The details I added with golden acrylic paint, different pens/pencils and a sticker.

 

 I also traded one of these below, in which I reminisced about childhood paper dolls and doll clothes in general. It was fun to make these "look old" with some ink pads and stressing the paper with scissors!

Off-Road Petals

I put together a collection of my recent flower photograghs. I have captured mostly flowers I don't recognize, I have to admit. Some of these I have never seen before and was lucky find them. :)

Yllä kaikenlaisia polun varrelta kuvaamiani kukkasia tältä kesältä. Osaa en ole koskaan nähnytkään aiemmin, joten nimet ovat haussa. Kiva noita on kuitenkin bongailla. :)

Elokuussa työrintama muuten piristyy, sillä sain hakemani assistentin paikan! :) Nyt voi hengähtää helpotuksesta ja syödä jäätelön hyvällä mielellä.

Metsäteemalla jatkaen

Täydennystä Teemakuun haasteeseen. :) Tämä julkaisu on jo odottanut puolivalmiina, kun väliin tuli työhaastattelu jatkoineen. Huomenna viimeinen, ja toivottavasti ratkaiseva haastattelukierros edessä.

Tein kuukausi sitten kortin, johon piirsin oman fonttinsa. Tykkäsin sen väkertämisestä kovasti, ja ajattelin kokeilla samaa piirustusohjelmalla.
Jostain syystä halusin yhdistää metsä-teemaa tähänkin, ja otin kirjainten sisätekstuuriksi kaarnaa alkuvuoden valokuvastani. Tästä tuli aika hauska, monenlaista inspistä taustallaan. :)

 Tässä tämä lähtökuva:

Minulla on muutama julkaisematon kasvopiirroskin haastetta varten, ja yritän kaivaa ne toiselta koneelta tähän samaan julkaisuun jatkoksi. Aloitin tänään seinien maalausurakan, joten asunto on vähän sekaisin.

Tässä taisikin olla viisi teemataidetta touko-kesäkuun haasteeseen. :) Toivottavasti alkava kuu tuo monenlaisia haasteita, myös työhön liittyviä, mukanaan.

Teemakuun kesä: Metsää ja Zentanglea

Vähän aikaa sivusta katseltuani päätin osallistua Teemakuun kesän ensimmäiseen haasteeseen, jossa on mukava meininki. :) Vanhojen teemojen joukossa on monia kivoja aiheita yhdeksään inspikseen. Sainkin heti kaksi työtä tehtyä.

Metsä-aiheeseen tartuin Millin työn nähtyäni, ja kaivoin viime syksynä ottamani kuvan taustaksi kuvankäsittelyohjelmaan.
Äsken vielä katselin Jag På Ekholmenin ihania digimaalauksia huhtikuulta. Tykkäsin ideoista kovasti, ja olisi noissa tekniikoissa vaikka mitä opittavaa. :)

Alla metsätyö, jossa olen korostanut reippaasti valokuvan värejä ja sitten suodattanut työn akryylimaalaus-efektillä. Sen jälkeen "tuputtelin" siveltimellä eri värejä häivyyttääkseni ja korostaakseni joitain osioita.

Toinen aihe, jota halusin kokeilla, oli zentangle-piirustukset. Otin summan mutikassa kolme tussia purkista ja aloin täytellä sivua luonnoskirjaan. Yritin pyöritellä paperia aina välillä, että näkökulma vaihtuisi.

Nyt tuli aika värikkäitä lopputuloksia. Saas nähdä, ehdinkö ennen juhannusta tehdä jotain muutakin, on nyt kaikenmoista menoa edessä.
