I was glad to notice that the 29 Faces challenge is back - and already started! I enjoyed so much the last September that there's no question whether I'm in or not. ;)
The first two faces I made today, mostly with acrylic colours.
In the first one I made a background skin colour with mist of Perfect Pearls & watercolour. I smoothed some of drops with damp cloth.
I used a small palette knife to spread the colours. That is the first new thing I tried in this challenge. :)
In my second face I mixed some blue Perfect Pearls with ultramarine acrylic colour. The blue now glows lightly. (Applied the colour with a medium sized paintbrush.) I plan to continue this work.
Thanks for watching! Hope to see your works too in this challenge!
Face 1 is gorgeous in her red hair and green eyes and luscious lips. And Face 2 is quite fascinating. I am tempted to go mix acrylic colors with Perfect Pearl to see how I can do with that technique. I like your results.
ReplyDeleteThank you Faye! I'm still learning how to use the Perfect Pearl powder but it truly is fascinating. :)
DeleteHuikean hienoja maalauksia nämä ovat kumpikin.
ReplyDeleteKiitos Selma :)
DeleteI really like the way you cropped image 1, it just draws you right in. Simple yet just right.
ReplyDeleteThanks, that picture is actually almost the same size of the paper I used ;-)
Deletewhat is perfect pearls? THe blue face is very evocative

Hi, the Perfect Pearls is a mineral powder that has pearly gleam, to be mixed for all sorts of things. Their manufacturer's page: http://rangerink.com/?product=perfect-pearls%E2%84%A2-open-stock
DeleteThere are also other similar products from other manufacturers, I just happened to pick this one from one store.
Hei Vasi, Paljon on opeteltavaa, en ole koskaan kuullut Perfect Pearls-jauheesta! Haasteen mukana oppii aina jotain uutta. Kivat kasvot, pidän ensimmäisen vihreistä silmistä ja sinisistä varjostuksista (ultramarin?) ja toisen kuvan ultramariini hehkuu. Rakastan ultramariinia!
Kyllä ultramariinissa on jotakin ihanaa. :) Kiitos Sirkka että kävit kommentoimassa!
DeleteI really love watercolor faces and yours are adorable!
ReplyDeleteThank you Susi, the watercolour technique is my favourite :-)
Deleteboth wonderful faces, I wasnt sure what perfect pearls were either, thanks for telling us.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you like the faces Lynda! I found out about the perfect pearls through stamping and card making but now I try to experiment more with them.
DeleteHow cool! I've never attempted anything with a palette knife! Yours turned out so well. Very neat :)
ReplyDeletePalettiveistä en juurikaan ole käyttänyt, pitäisi joskus. Olen kyllä levitellyt värejä vanhoilla luotto- yms. korteilla, nekin toimivat hyvin. Tuossa ylemmässä nuo värit ja tekstuuri viehättävät, alemman sinisyys on upeaa.
ReplyDeleteTosi kauniita ovat kaikki kasvosi. Alin on on ihana, lennokasta siveltimen jälkeä.
