What Dance Means To Me

Happy International Dance Day! I try to take easy at home today because I cought a cold walking an hour outside the other day. Otherwise I would go to enjoy tribal fusion belly dancing, the style I certainly love. :)

But watching dance videos is a good way to celebrate the day! ;) Here is one of my favourites! Winter Metamorphosis by Slovenian dance group The Rustiqua:

This video reminds that dancing is so much more than just some moves combined. It is joy, creativity and a way to tell a story... Both the performer and the viewer can share the experience, which is great.

Hope your day includes spirit of dance today!

Itse odotan alkukesää, koska silloin tribalfuusiota voi nähdä livenä Helsingissä, ensin 30.5.2015 Kanneltalolla ja sitten 5.6.2015 Gloriassa.

Jammailunsiivittämää keskiviikkoa ;)

Doodled Cover Decoration

I happened to find a nice, quick project - a sketchbook with blank covers!
The finished, doodled look is quite Spring-spirited. :)

I collected some process photos just to see how this evolves.
The first sketch:

Adding some spray-colours:

And finally some white gel pen:

Some of the medium used:

Cover material was gesso primed canvas. The watersoluble ink dried a bit lighter than I imagined, but some extra layers amplified colours.
This technique was quite fast & easy.
